About Peterborough Christian Books Ltd
Welcome to Peterborough Christian Books Ltd. one of the largest independent bookshops in the country. The shop was founded over 30 years ago by Frank and Annette Smith with a box of books to sell to their local church. In 1979 the business became a Limited Company and since then has grown to serve the Christians of Peterborough and beyond.
The shop is now part of the Crown Books Retailers and has an extensive stock of all types of Bibles, books, music, DVDs, software and many other items.
Is this website safe and secure?
When you place an order it will be routed through a secure server. Secure server software encrypts all information you input before it is sent to us. For more information on security please follow the link at the bottom of every page and here Security & Privacy.
What forms of payment do you accept?
We accept the following debit/credit cards:
Please note: we are unable to process orders of a certain high value. In this instance we would require payment from either a bank transfer or cheque. For more information please get in touch via our Contact Page.
How do I place an order?
To place an order with Peterborough Christian Books Ltd, simply follow these steps:
How will I know you have receieved my order?
Peterborough Christian Books Ltd will send you an email to acknowledge receipt of your order.
What do you charge for delivery?
Books, Bibles and Videos:
- Orders up to £9.99 will be charged £0.99 postage
- Orders up to £19.99 will be charged £1.95 postage
- Orders up to £24.99 will be charged £2.95 postage
- Orders £25 and over will be delivered free of charge
CDs and DVDs:
- Orders of 1 or 2 items will be charged £1.50 postage
- Orders of 3 or more items will be delivered free of charge
Mixed order of Books and CDs or DVDs:
- Any mixed order will be charged postage as per Books, Bibles and Videos cost.
Please note that free delivery in the Scottish Highlands is only available if the address is a business address. If you have any doubts please contact the shop before ordering.
What is your returns policy?
At Peterborough Christian Books Ltd, we want you to be delighted every time that you shop with us. Although we are aware that on occasions you may want to return items, so below is a summary of our returns policy:-
We offer a 28 days guarantee, which means that if you are unhappy with your purchase, you can return it to us in its original condition (with all shrink wrap intact) within 28 days and we will issue a full refund for the price you paid.
If the item is faulty we will refund all postage costs you may incur on sending the item to us. If the item is not faulty we will only refund the costs of the item.
This guarantee is in addition to your statutory rights. Please note that we can process returns and refunds only for items purchased through Peterborough Christian Books Ltd.

How long will my order take to arrive?
Orders will usually be picked and packed for dispatch within 3 working days.
How do I navigate the website?
Using the menu on the left of the screen you can browse any of the categories by clicking on the category name. This will usually bring up a list of sub-categories below the original category title.
Once you have found a product you wish to order, click on the small plus sign next to it's price and it will be added to your shopping cart.

What are the terms and conditions of sale?
Although every effort is made to ensure that products are available, all offers are subject to availability. Prices are correct at the time of display but may change at the discretion of Peterborough Christian Books Ltd. All prices include VAT, where applicable.

How frequently is the website updated?
The site is constantly updated as information is received from suppliers. Features, offers and promotions will change frequently so please keep checking the site.
Tips on searching for products
Title:
- Key in any word from the title.
- To refine your search you can type in more than one word, each word seperated by a space (e.g. Israel History).
- Click Search button to start search
Author:
- Key in the surname of the author or artist.
- You may also include initials or forename to refine the search.
- Click Search button to start search
Series:
- Some products are part of a series. If you know the name of that series then you can search using this box for any products in that series.
- Key in any word form the series (e.g. 'behind' for the Left Behind series)
- Click Search button to start search
ISBN:
- Key in all or part of the 13 digit ISBN without hyphenation or spaces.
- Click Search button to start search
Other options
- It is possible to do a search incorporating as many of the above as you wish. But please bear in mind that the more details you enter the narrow your search will be and the less likely you are to find the product you are looking for.
- Please select from the drop down menu if you wish to search within one category (ie. Books, Music, DVD, Software or Other).

If the book you want is not found on our database, we may be able to source it from our USA wholesaler or other British sources. Please get in touch using the Contact Page with details of the book you are looking for.
